In this issue of Econometrics Ekonometria. Advances in Applied Data Analysis, three articles are presented. Kateryna Berezka and Olha Kovalchuk presented the results of a study on detecting and evaluating the effectiveness of vaccinations against COVID-19 in the EU-27. The authors indicated that vaccination significantly reduces the level of morbidity. Relations between the dynamics of COVID-19 vaccination and the COVID-19 cases, COVID-19 hospitalisations and COVID-19 deaths in EU countries were examined. Wahib Bouabs is the author of the next featured article. The presented research covers conditional mode functional estimation with missing at random under local linear estimation. The results of the considerations indicate finding the almost complete convergence with rates for the proposed estimator under some regularity conditions. Dushko Josheski and Mico Apostolov discussed in a very interesting way the use of the prospect theory to explain overbidding in first price auctions. Through their research, the authors found that non-linear weighting functions explain overbidding the risk neutral Nash equilibrium valuation. They used coherent risk measures and subadditivity, monotonicity and positive homogeneity-confirmed convexity.
